Providing arts opportunitites to people who live, work and learn in institutional settings

Jennifer Viets has been a multi-disciplinary teaching artist and arts administrator with children and families in the Chicago area for the past 25 years.

     In addition to her theatre work with children and adults she has an extensive social service background. She worked for a decade as a Child Life Specialist at Children’s Memorial Hospital, designed and facilitated a course for medical students at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago and was hired as an LRE(least restrictive environment) consultant with the Chicago Public Schools. Jennifer also trained and works as a “Circle Keeper” promoting Restorative Justice, Abolition and positive communication. 

     With a focus on using the arts to “reach, teach and heal” she currently: Directs ArtsConnectChicago - an organization that provides multidisciplinary arts experiences to people who live, work and learn in hospitals, schools, and other institutional settings.
